PHOTO CHALLENGE #7 -THINGS
THAT ARE MADE
Here are some of the many beautiful creations that were made by our friend and neighbor, Randy. He really knew how to do woodworking. We paid for the material and gave him a drawing of what we wanted and voila...he did a beautiful job!
The taller stool below actually went to a 5 foot kitchen table he made at the request of my family as a surprise to me for Mother's Day one year. The kids helped with the sanding and staining and Randy did the sawing and assembling. This stool and another like it went on the ends of the table. On each side was a long bench that went from one end to the other of the table. The table could seat the whole family...all 8 of us! It was wonderful and a great Mother's Day gift!!!  The smaller stool became a pattern for the stools Randy ended up making for each of the grand kids. Oh, how they loved their stools!!

This is another one of the "let's learn to..." projects I get into. Of course this is crocheting!! My mother could crotchet like nothing else. She never could get me to have her expertise (or desire). She did afghans, baby wraps, and bedspreads. The one I did here is a "purse" that my friend Jan and I did to challenge the 13 girls (8-12 year olds) that we teach every other week. You recall my knitting creation...slippers. One slipper 3 sizes bigger than the other! Here is my attempt at the purse. The girls all put a strap on theirs. Mine didn't get that far. Actually, however, I have decided to try my hand at this again. Maybe some of my granddaughters might like one of these to hold some kind of treasure they might have. Time will tell.

We still have one of the stools Randy made the boys. I sure miss him! He sure was talented when it came to woodworking. I have a kitchen chair that has come apart and Jason has no idea how to fix it. Randy would have had it done in a jiffy! I love your purse! Great job. Grandma also tried to teach me how to crochet. No-one can crochet as great as she did. I still have MANY of the blankets that she has made and will keep them forever :)
